4 Under-The-Radar Movies You Should Watch On Netflix

Headshot

Iko Uwais is slowly turning into an international superstar. His role in The Raid: Redemption catapulted him into stardom and introduced U.S. audiences to his impressive array of skills. Headshot continues that tradition by throwing Iko into another action packed narrative filled with guns, guns and more guns packed inside a martial arts slaughterfest. The movie is a non-stop violent trip with scene after scene of brutal fights and shootouts. Someone call Keanu. John Wick 3 has found it's villain.

War on Everyone

John Michael McDonagh's follow-up to The Guard seemed like a disappointed to most but not to this broke writer! The adventures of these two corrupt cops who get caught in the crossfire of a British crime boss who somehow settled in New Mexico is a treat. This type of dark comedy is right down my alley with Michael Pena cursing at his fat son about his Xbox to Alexander purposely smashing parked cars as he drives down the street. Sure it feels like a Tarantino rip off but so what? Tarantino doesn't have a copyright on colorful characters who blabber about nonsense. If you're looking to smile, this is the one to watch.

Cheatin'

I was unfamiliar with Bill Plympton's work before Cheatin' but I'm certain I'll seek it out now. This dialogue free animation is art in it's purest form. For a simple story about a man and a woman who's relationship get's ripped apart by jealously, this movie is captivating. The majestic animation captivates your eyes as scene after scene strolls along in pure beauty. It's amazing to watch knowing one man basically did all the work. The adult themes along with the risks Cheatin' takes makes this low key animation a winner. I wish more animated movies would do the same.

Train To Busan

I'm going to right out and say it: Train To Busan is the best zombie movie in years. The emotional punches this movie pulls is only eclipsed by it's horror. From start to finish, this movie is a fright fest filled with characters you care for and desperately want to see live. It introduces an element more gruesome than zombies, showing that human nature is sometimes more evil than flesh eating corpses. Turn off the lights and watch it right now. Don't forget to bring the tissues.
